Overview:
Costner is at his best playing a grief-stricken Navy man, distraught over the death of his female lover, who finds himself the suspect of a murder investigation. Hackman is the Secretary of Defense, and is just that, on the defensive. The elaborate plot and the sharply-drawn characters, are terrific. Superbly acted with Patton terrific as Hackman's yes man. Director Donaldson keeps you guessing and the screenplay forces viewers to pay attention.
