Murder My Sweet, the Movie

Murder My Sweet

1944

Director:
Edward Dmytryk

Screenplay:
John Paxton

Cast:
Dick Powell, Claire Trevor, Anne Shirley, and Otto Kruger

Overview:
Detective Philip Marlowe (Powell) becomes involved in searching for an ex-convict's missing girlfriend. Based on the novel by Raymond Chandler, it was first made as The Falcon Takes Over (1942) and later as Farewell My Lovely (1974).
This is the film that changed Dick Powell's image from an amiable song and dance man of 1930's musicals into a much harder-edged actor.

Format: VHS
