Overview:
Mystery fans love an honest cop that follows the rules for being a cop even if it means not solving the case. The slow and methodical steps that it takes for determined Moscow police officer Hurt to solve a gruesome murder in the face of interference and red herrings is what lifts this movie above the ordinary. The Russian settings offers something different. Interesting insights into how Soviet law enforcement dealt with crimes, wealthy foreigners, and its own citizens.
